Andy Wirth Appointed as the Chairman and President of Reno-Tahoe Regional Air Service Corporation

Earlier this year, Andy Wirth was appointed as the Chairman and President of The Reno-Tahoe Regional Air Service Corporation. This is alongside serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Squaw Valley Ski Resort, the parent company of Alpine Meadows Holdings based in California, and the Chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority of Trustees.

Reno Tahoe Air Service Corporation is involved with promoting air services in Tahoe International Airport by identifying new prospects for extra flights. The corporation has a board that comprises tourism entities from Reno, North Lake Tahoe and South Lake Tahoe, and local hotel-casino properties.

He noted that he believed that the future, and the landscape of their region, including the larger Reno-Sparks area and the entire Lake Tahoe, is filled with opportunity, and that the air service in this region continues to be a core element of the emergent and thriving economy. Most notably, he played a significant role in establishing the air service to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport with JetBlue service from JFK Airport as well as launching the Alaska Airlines service from JW Airport to other locations.

The Regional Air Service Corporation was established to bring together private and public businesses and organizations to contribute marketing expertise and dollars, positioning the Reno-Sparks, Northern Nevada region, and Lake Tahoe as preferred tourist destinations.

The corporation was also created to provide better air service to and from Tahoe/Reno International Airport, and to target typical business industry concerns for cooperative action.
